Mental health and social advocacy Mental health advocacy has been a central pillar of my work throughout 2024, addressing not just traditional mental health services but the broader spectrum of community wellbeing. Starting in December 2023, I launched a series of Mental Health Summits that progressively expanded in scope and impact: • Our February summit marked a significant milestone with the presence of Premier Smith and the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, leading to concrete discussions about resource allocation and policy improvements. • Our May summit also again included Premier Smith and was integral to helping those in the Mental Health sphere connect with others in the sector. • The September summit introduced the H.E.L.P. (Healthy Experiences Living, Lasting Positivity) initiative, bringing together: • The Palix Foundation’s groundbreaking work on early childhood development and mental health • McMann/Alberta Recovery’s comprehensive approach to addiction support and recovery • Global Village Center from Brooks, highlighting the importance of culturally competent mental health care • Homeless advocacy groups and housing organizations working to address the interconnected challenges of mental health and housing security These summits evolved into comprehensive forums addressing the full spectrum of community wellness, with over 100 attendees representing 35 organizations working collaboratively to create lasting solutions. The true Conservatives in my world would like to know why you Reformers are hellbent on destroying everything created by our conservative hero Peter Lougheed and why you are willing to let our water supply be put at risk after Lougheed protected it? Why do you want to Axe the Tax that was created by conservatives to help our oil executives show the world that they do care about global warming and 27 countries agree with them?
While Alaska and Norway keep increasing their savings accounts for their children’s future can you explain why our debt recently increased by $8 billion to $85 billion? Where do you think our children are going to find the money for that or the $260 billion to cleanup the oil well mess that I was involved with for 8 years when conservatives Lougheed and Getty made the oil industry pay for it? The point is we are conservatives who are tired of being treated like morons and why are you letting Danielle Smith do it, like hiding the results of the survey for taking over our Canada Pension Plan ? Are you man enough to try to do something about it or are you just there for the money like we see you doing?
