Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Nov. 5, 2024

Ticked Off

It’s no wonder why the U.S. and Canada don’t want Chinese-made electric vehicles to enter their market. EVs made and sold here are approximately three times the price. It has nothing to do with inferior products or security threat, it’s the money.

Ticked Off

Living in NE Crescent Heights, been listening to the neighbour’s dogs bark for the last two years. Always leaving them outside while they are away. Phone bylaw and complain and then don’t hear the dogs for a week or so, then it starts again. Absolutely ticked off with irresponsible pet owners.

Ticked Off

City street sweepers came by with no notice of coming so people could move vehicles off street.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith’s political base includes Take Back Alberta and the Black Hat gang. Will this motley group either help her in re-election, or better prepare her for the opposition?

Tickled Pink

I would be if the city turned one side of Finlay Bridge into a bike lane. Dismounting my bike is not efficient, and drivers get upset if I cycle the vehicular lanes. Most vehicles travel much faster across the bridge than the posted speed limit, endangering me and anyone who tries cycling it.

Ticked Off

Obviously the people who think Division Avenue “traffic calming” is a good idea are the people who designed it and implemented it. Why not do Dunmore Road? That’s where it is needed, not a sleepy neighbourhood like Southeast Hill.

Tickled Pink

I drive a full size SUV and have driven up and down the newly constructed sections of Division Ave looking for the problem corner that people keep writing about, and I just can’t see it.

Tickled Pink

I’ll be happy when things are back to normal and people stop complaining about Division Avenue and go back to complaining about Russian Olive trees and dog waste bags in their garbage bins – you know, the really important things.

Ticked Off

If you “spill” something in our shared building and don’t have the decency to clean it up, at least report it to management. As for the board member who uses that area daily when you leave for work, why did you not report it to management? If you see something say something. I did.

Ticked Off

There are trailers and a recent tent camped out for weeks on end at the south side of Walmart parking lot. It is an eyesore, and the posted signs outlawing overnight parking are not being enforced (although I’m not really sure who has the authority. I hope the police or box store can step up and remove this problem.

Tickled Pink

I am delighted when someone calls me woke. Who doesn’t want to be awake? Black Lives Matter and being aware of that is a good thing, and any sarcastic remark made about being woke is actually a compliment.

Ticked Off

Danielle Smith said “doctors aren’t always right,” and compared puberty blockers to the opioid crisis. All the transgender kids who will be harmed by her malicious agenda deserve so much better.

Tickled Pink

So lucky to live in a neighbourhood where my neighbours aren’t blasphemers.

Ticked Off

That the trails route on Division Avenue are wider than the road. Enough of these trails that cost nothing but money and the destruction of our beautiful city.

Ticked Off

A lot of corporations are getting rid of middle management to save money. It’s time the city did the same, we’re very top heavy.

Ticked Off

What’s up with the loud music at the Tigers hockey game? That guy who has the volume turned up to talk and yelling, Go Tigers Go. Turn the volume down, it’s not a rock concert.

Tickled Pink

No tricks, only plenty of treats seeing all the polite, creative, fun Halloweeners out in our neighbourhood!

Tickled Pink

I love my dentist in Redcliff! Thank you for your care and kindness.

Ticked Off

Gas utilities pricing is more than double October pricing. That’s crazy.

Tickled Pink

I am very happy with the work Danielle Smith is do doing for our province. I like that she stands up to Trudeau and the Liberal government. To all the naysayers who want things done yesterday, things can’t happen overnight, give her and her government a chance to work and get things done. In our area, she promised the twinning of Highway 3 and it’s happening. She will certainly have my vote.

Ticked Off

What was the point in sweeping the streets with no notice given? Leaves are still there under cars. Waste of money.

Tickled Pink

Aquacize at Crestwood is a great way to keep fit. Marla and the instructors keep the sessions moving along at a fun pace. Thanks from all the aquacizers.

Tickled Pink

Sanity exists in Regina and Saskatoon. Why isn’t there any in the rest of Saskatchewan?

Tickled Pink

Growing up I used to think it took quite the skill to hunt a deer that has a big rack. As I got older I realized most “hunters” drive around until they see something from the comfort of their truck, at which point they shoot it off the hood of their vehicle. And they call this hunting lol.

Ticked Off

At the hypocrisy of the Catholic football head coach. Preaches values and then has to be held back from attacking a referee during a game. Constantly yapping at officials.

Ticked Off (Unedited)

We have a editor for city newspaper isn’t a actual Canadian! That’s so disappointing to read. Why? Who the hell hires a foregier to represent a Canadian city. Racism is what I’m getting at here. If this editor is not into Canada. Get rid of this person. Put a locally born person in. Duhh! Sometimes I wonder how on earth the interviewer wouldn’t know any better. (Editor’s note: And yet, better at English. That can’t feel great.)

Ticked Off

How is it possible that Alberta, the leading producer of oil and gas in the country, has the highest home heating costs in the country? Our conservative governments have let us down.

Ticked Off

The UCP has endorsed Danielle Smith. I encourage Alberta residents to join the party to get things back on track. Something is wrong.

Ticked Off

To the person using the Kentucky rifle, here in the colonies, we would’ve been using the Ferguson flint-lock rifle. But it is still a great piece of reading!

Ticked Off

Governments should stay out of transgender issues and families. There is not a one size fits all solution. Let the kids, the family, the schools figure things out without government involvement.

Ticked Off

Will the UCP government side with Alberta motorists, or insurers?

Tickled Pink

To understand climate change is a root cause of the “rising cost of groceries.” Climate disasters, extreme weather, drought, rivers drying up, all affect normal food production, cause shortages, resulting in higher prices.

Tickled Pink

Can’t wait to hear what Danielle Smith has to say to Pierre Poilievre. Not even elected, and telling the provinces what to do. And she thinks Justin Trudeau is power hungry!

Ticked Off

Music should be turned down after 9 p.m. so people cannot hear it off your property. If you’re using it as a garage security system, it’s disruptive to your neighbours all night.

Tickled Pink

Public works department on the recent grading of back alley. Kudos to the operator.

Ticked Off

Politicians have no place coming in between doctors and patients by banning medical treatments. I could care less about what the UCP, Liberals, or even the NDP think about transgender youths and puberty blockers. What do the doctors think? What does the Alberta Medical Association think? Can we stop playing politics with people’s lives and let doctors do their jobs please?
