Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, July 2, 2024

Tickled Pink

For quick response and excellent work of city’s municipal works department in grading lane in Southview area.

Tickled Pink

When the prime minister stands and waves goodbye when he boards his plane, but Ticked Off when he comes back.

Tickled Pink

Kudos to the MHHS valedictorian who chose to use her platform to speak up for Palestinians and other injustices worldwide. It must have taken a lot of courage to share a controversial but important message in front of that many people.

Ticked Off

To learn the MH Utility Ratepayers Association is basically just a cesspool of right-wing propaganda. Obviously, investing into renewable energy isn’t going to “bankrupt the city.” Renewable energy projects make money, or do you think all the private wind and solar developments here in southern Alberta are doing it just for fun? It is incredibly ironic that they accuse the city of having an “ideological agenda” and then spout this unfounded nonsense.

Tickled Pink

That our amazing premier has decided to opt out of the federal dental care program. Why should my tax dollars go to seniors to have free dental care? It is a huge waste of money. Alberta’s share of the funding should go directly to the UCP to decide what to do with.

Ticked Off

At the writer saying Alberta should invest in an APP, as she did not make any good points on how an Alberta funded pension plan would be governed, or funded. I’ll stick with my CPP, which is one of the best funded in the world, thank you.

Ticked Off

Once again Danielle Disagreeable wants to opt out of a federal dental health program that Alberta has no interest in now or ever. They should name the program the oil and gas dental plan and then our province would opt in.

Tickled Pink

To know how is it that two opposition leaders say “Canada is broken/U.S. is broken.”

Ticked Off

I have researched why some Alberta people have (expletive) Trudeau signs. There does no seem to be any legitimate reason. Our government hasn’t forced us to do anything, our inflation rate is amongst the lowest in the world. What is the problem? Irrationals.

Tickled Pink

If we had a prime minister debate with the same rules as the U.S. presidential debate. Can you imagine our three leaders on stage and actually having to answer questions?

Tickled Pink

That our city planners have the foresight to prepare us for a net-zero carbon future. Sticking your head in the sand will not make these future expenditures go away, as certain local associations would have you believe.

Ticked Off

I think Alberta needs to separate from Canada, as I believe it is the only way the voters will understand what this prime minister is costing us. (Editor’s note: I’m guessing you weren’t at the fireworks last night, hey?)

Ticked Off

Sorry, Ratepayers Association, the voters selected a council to make decisions on our behalf. Not every issue needs a plebiscite to move forward, nor do we need to always attack our council if we don’t agree with them. This is why we hold open elections to choose our representatives.

Ticked Off

I remember reading in this paper a while back of how my local MLA was going to fight hard for area of the province. I wonder how hard he had to fight to get the million-dollar reduction to the MHPS.

Ticked Off

Watching the upcoming elections in the U.K. and the U.S., it is interesting that the main issues are inflation, cost of living and housing. The same issues here in this country and every other country in the world. According to Poilievre it is all Trudeau’s fault. Our PM is a very powerful man.

Tickled Pink

With the City of Medicine Hat’s environmental utilities department for the quick repair of the hydrant in Riverside. They were polite and prompt in informing us, by knocking on doors and delivering letters, that the street would be without water for several hours. Well done!

Tickled Pink

The Coutts border blockaders are being prosecuted. By their quotes they seemed to think they were saving the world. I think they are just dangerous fanatics. We don’t need to be saved from vaccinations, we need to be saved from rebels without a cause.

Ticked Off

Getting really tired of one citizen, who is constantly, in the news, try to “Boss” our city council around, objecting to every decision that they make. We have some very intelligent and well-experienced council members, please let them do what they have been regulated to do. It’s annoying to keep hearing the complaints, this bossy person should calm down and stop this behaviour.

Tickled Pink

That the Flames got a Medicine Hat Tiger and the Oilers didn’t. Go Flames!

Ticked Off

Every time there is a band playing at Kin Coulee park all I hear is the bass. Makes it hard to watch my TV. I get when they have something at the Stampede grounds, you hardly hear anything. What happened to the thing they call a noise bylaw?

Tickled Pink

If all federal leaders would get the security needed to see who in their caucus member should be banned for aiding in foreign interference. It’s your responsibility to investigate for Canadian voters.

Ticked Off

That mortgage customers are not banging on doors or protesting at banks, which are the cause of the world’s high interest rates. Robbery.

Ticked Off

We voted out the last mayor for doing things behind closed doors, and Mayor Clark was sanctioned for striving for openness. Which way is best? I hope Clark will be vindicated.

Ticked Off

Ex president Trump has told so many lies that everyone thinks they can say things without proof. We are all idiots. It is the truth. No one knows what they are doing. We are all doomed. That is the truth.

Ticked Off

If I get a traffic violation and take it to court it is settled in a month. Tamara Lich is charged with a major crime and it takes years to determine her guilt. Does it take that long for lawyers to get their brains in gear, is it about making a lot of money, or is it laziness?

Ticked Off

That people actually complain about the fireworks because it upsets their dogs. It’s time you live your life for yourselves and not for an animal.
