Happy Spring everyone, I think it might be here finally! Wow, what a long winter but there has been a subtle shift in the warmth factor, and I can feel some heat coming on! It is also graduation season and I just want to give a big shout out to everyone who is transitioning from either high school, college or university. Well done to you all! COVID was not kind to anyone who was trying to get to the finish line, so I believe all the struggles you endured to get this point have made you very resilient. Also proved that if you managed to have the tenacity to stick it out through a million zoom teachings, all the missed activities and lonely times, you can conquer whatever you face now in your careers. I am going to unashamedly tell everyone how proud hubby and I are of our two incredible sons who are graduating in June from University of Alberta with degrees in Nursing. Yes sir, two brothers following in their mother’s footsteps, how special is that? The other shoutout is to the wonderful group of people who volunteer time and mentorship in our community. It is Volunteer Month and I wish to say a big thank you to you all. I found it interesting over the years to see the folks who are really the busiest are always the first to step up. On the flip side, the folks who really do nothing are always the first to complain about something! Strange phenomenon but unfortunately all too true. So big kudos to the folks who fill a void and really make a difference. Well done. Just a little aside, I also want to thank the business who has the funny and poignant signage at the bottom of Dunmore Hill each month. I look forward to reading and having a chuckle. You make sitting at the traffic lights just a bit more tolerable and I love that it is usually poking fun at hubby! Stay well. Allyson McCaw is a Medicine Hatter 10
