Letter: Government and bureaucrats continue to be waste of time, money

By Letter to the Editor on June 28, 2022.

Dear editor,

You know, folks, if it were not true it would be laughable.

We have our $200,000-a-year MPs who work 20 weeks a year demanding the RCMP investigate RCMP commissioner for corruption – you think the fix might be in?

The Liberal and NDP federal government, now on a 16-week paid vacation, have passed onto the senate the Internet law, which will give the CRTC another expensive and august body of time-wasting bureaucrats the authority to ensure pornography streamed into Canada is at least 35 per cent Canadian content.

So, are we are going to pay Ottawa bureaucrats to watch pornography on our dime and continue to pay them when they argue with the producers about percentages?

TSA (those folks who treat you like a criminal at the airport), another expensive federal boondoggle, had no idea that as soon as COVID restrictions lifted Canadians would want to travel around the globe.

Passport Canada, another faceless federal department hiding behind closed doors, were taken by surprise and overwhelmed at the number of passport applications submitted when restrictions were lifted. What were they doing for the last two years, getting paid to play video games at home?

Dr. (could not make a decision to save her life) Tam just got her contract renewed for three years and got a $60,000 pay raise. She led the Public Health Agency response to COVID and was chastised for being “woefully unprepared, under estimated potentials and did not have the faintest idea what was happening.

Time for a change, folks.
