Dear editor, It is that busy time before Christmas, people are making plans and figuring out how to afford food and presents. Then how do we make it to the next cheque in January? It is a stressful time. Yet people expect us to put on a wonderful smile and love everybody. I like Christmas, it is a special time at church. Although I prefer Easter. I like this time of year because I can reflect on the year in the quiet time between Christmas and New Year. Grateful that I have survived another year. There are plenty of people I know who don’t like this time of year. Other mental health consumers who have experienced family trauma at this time of the year. Fellow autistics who have sensory issues with sounds and eating issues. My own son, who I think had his best Christmas ever last year, when we had pizza three days in a row. Anyways I shall take it as it comes. It is glorious just to be alive. Diane MacNaughton Redcliff 8
