Letter: Both sides of the aisle need to bury the hatchet

Dear editor,

Alberta is presently facing the worst economic and health crisis in recent memory. It is high time all members of the legislature, regardless of party politics, put the people of Alberta ahead of continually jumping to score cheap political points for their own benefit.

The people of Alberta deserve and demand more. We, the people, have entrusted our safe keeping and Alberta’s safekeeping to you. Democracy: of the people, by the people and for the people. Not of the party, by the party and for the party. Of course, the role of the Official Opposition is to hold the governing party to account. However, if there was ever a time for all members of the legislature to ‘bury the hatchet’ and work together to get Albertans through bad times, that time is surely now. Governing UCP, make the overture.

Official Opposition, call off your attack squad. Let’s make every effort for the betterment of all Albertans. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
