CUPE President: AHS job eliminations make no sense

Dear editor,

On what planet does it make sense for Jason Kenney and the UCP to be eliminating 11,000 positions from Alberta Health Services in the middle of a pandemic?

Our health care workers, from doctors right down to the person mopping floors, are the people who literally risk their lives just by going into hospitals during a pandemic.

We should be throwing ourselves at their feet and thanking them, instead of laying them off like Kenney is doing.

During a pandemic, we need mote health care workers, not fewer.
