Heritage in the Hat: Quarantine and isolation

During the war, the building served for a typhoid outbreak (1916) followed by the Spanish 'flu in 1918-20, which returning troops distributed to every community. Alberta saw 31,000 cases with 4,308 deaths before the 'flu subsided in May 1919.
