Plenty of lessons to be learned from speaking with elders

To speak to the elderly is an opportunity, an honour and a joy.

To God and these people, we owe almost everything. They remain the eyewitnesses to history. Without exception, all of the elders I have spoken with are or were proud, grateful Canadians.

When I asked how crazy, evil governments took over their home countries, old Germans, old Russians, old Ukrainians, old Jews, old Dutchmen and more each gave me their answers from the heart with no dark agenda, no ulterior motive and no progressive filler added. It was the same answer over and over.

To paraphrase, first they come for your guns. Then they come for your money. Then they come for you.

Thank you to my elders and friends for your stories and wisdom.

I understand. I hope and pray others understand too.
