Medicine Hat News The Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education is hosting the grand opening of Ecole St. John Paul II School on Monday. The dual-track kindergarten-to-Grade 6 French and English immersion school serves 325 students, and is located in the Southlands neighbourhood. A news release from the MHCBE described the school as “an innovative, state-of-the-art educational facility designed for collaborative learning.” The release also touts the school’s environmental credentials, with its target of LEED Gold Certification. The official ceremony begins at 1 p.m., followed by a cake and ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. There will be an open house with school tours from 2:30-6 p.m. 8
