Starting a boycott

By Letter to the Editor on May 23, 2018.

I write this letter to all Canadians. After a long period of worry, second guessing and anguish I have concluded that I must do this. This is about the Trans Mountain pipeline and the response to that pipeline by the B.C. government. The pipeline has been approved under the laws of Canada. The recent actions of the B.C. government are illegal.

In response, I have decided I am going to boycott B.C. wine, tourism, agriculture and fishery products. I do this with a heavy heart. I have family and friends who live in B.C. My parents lived there for many years. They are good people, and I do not want to hurt them. Nevertheless, when government acts illegally it is you and I who must stand up and speak up and let them know. That is what this is about.

Finally, I invite all Canadians to join me in this boycott. This is about Canada. We have laws. Our governments are bound by those laws just like you and me. If we don’t speak up, we will lose that opportunity. Please join me in this boycott.
