Raymond Comets and Medicine Hat Mohawks captured the Tier 1 titles as the Southern Alberta High School Rugby League held its championship games Monday at Sherring Field at Lethbridge Sports Park.

Comets concluded a dominant Tier I girls’ season where they didn’t allow a point, defeating LCI Clippers 146-0 in Monday’s championship game.

In the Tier 1 boys’ final, Medicine Hat beat the LCI Rams 27-19. Eden Jonkers had two tries, Bretton Labash and Cody Lyon had the others as the Mohawks avenged a narrow loss to the Rams in the regular season. They now advance to provincials this weekend in Calgary.

In Tier 2, Winston Churchill Bulldogs outlasted Fort Macleod F.P. Walshe Flyers 36-31 to claim the boys’ crown while Walshe edged Churchill 12-10 in the girls’ final.

Taber W.R. Myers Rebels claimed the Tier 3 girls’ title with a 58-10 win over Vulcan County Central Hawks.
