Local squad eying provincial berth

Four young Hatters will take to the sheets at Medicine Hat Curling Club this evening in search of a provincial berth.

Connor Zeidell, Ayden Whittmire, Lane Rempel and Bryson Helmle open the U-18 Southern Alberta Playdowns against Zane McLeod’s squad from Calgary’s North Hill Curling Club at 7 p.m. with the hope of locking down one of three provincial berths up for grabs at the event.

The bonspiel will feature 10 girls teams and eight boys teams. Action officially gets underway at 2 p.m. and carries on through Sunday.
