At the age of 87, Reuben found love again and married Stella Friesen on October 10, 2015. They treasured every day, knowing they wouldn’t have many years together, and celebrated their anniversary on the 10th of each month.
Reuben is survived by his spouse, Stella Friesen of almost two years. Most of his family continues to live in Medicine Hat with a few exceptions noted – his children: Patty Drysdale, Arvid (Evonne) Kurpjuweit, Merle (Dorothy) Kurpjuweit, Cyndi (Barry) Chomick of Airdrie, Sheldon (Kelly) Kurpjuweit; his grandchildren, Aaron (Kristy) Bowal, Brady (Jasmin) Bowal, Stephanie Drysdale, Kelley (Candace) Kurpjuweit, Kurtis (Alanna) Kurpjuweit, Clark (Renate) Kurpjuweit, Jennifer (Chris) Friess, Michael (Yvonne) Kurpjuweit of Saskatoon, Lindsey (Karl) Sine of Cochrane, Christie Kurpjuweit (Chris Stevens), Alyssa (Shane) Yuhas of Toronto, Dalyce (Jesse) Stevenson of Toronto, Jesse (Jennifer) Chomick of Airdrie, Robin (Kirsty) Kurpjuweit, Sara (Haris) Softic, and Chelsey (Aaron) Welwood as well as 40 great-grandchildren (and counting).
