.1942~ GARDINER~ 2014
With her heart full of love for the family she adored, Barbara Anne Gardiner passed peacefully Saturday, October 11th, 2014 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Loving wife and co-captain to Grant, Barb was the daughter of Evelyn and Ed Deering, ‘favorite’ sister to Marlene (Vern). She was also the amazing mom to Gary, Catherine, Bruce (Michele), Debbie (Albert), Bob (Kandi), Susan (Mike) and Lori (Harlan), and proud Grandma G to grandkids: Carlye (Wacey), TJ (CJ and great grandson Wyatt), Robbie, Jay, Greg, Jordyn, Jenn, Connor, Shannon, Andrea, Blake, Brooke, Colby, Sydni, Drew, Caiden and Grant. Born and raised in Medicine Hat, Barb shared her quick wit and light-hearted nature with her wide and wonderful group of friends and family. Barb was pre-deceased by infant granddaughter Erin, great nephew Will, and her dad Ed (Pa) Deering. An alumni of the infamous Elm street gang, kinettes, shrine ladies and the Gull Lake Happy Hour Club, Barb lived her life without judgment, fuss or fanfare. Never questioned was Barb’s unwavering commitment to her grand family. Through sporting events, grads, recitals, birthday socks, holidays at the lake, she cared for us all, welcoming everyone: the kids’ friends, children of friends, friends of friends, relatives new and old. At this special time of Autumn, we give enormous thanks for the beautiful lady we were proud to call wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and, most of all, friend.
