Albertans have less than a week to provide input on the province’s framework for the legal sale of cannabis through an online survey.

The deadline for public consultation is Oct. 27 at midnight.

The province on Oct. 4 released its draft framework for managing recreational marijuana in Alberta, which will be legal nationwide in July 2018.

Kathleen Ganley, Alberta’s minister of justice and solicitor general, said the draft plan was based on extensive consultation with the public and stakeholders throughout the summer of 2017.

“Our draft framework, developed with input from Albertans, is a starting point for managing cannabis in our province,” she said.

“We want to hear from as many Albertans as possible and welcome their feedback before our government makes final decisions on this important topic.”

Albertans can visit alberta.ca/cannabis to read the draft framework and provide feedback through a survey.
