Women arrested for robbing Halloween store on Friday

Two women have been charged in connection with a robbery at a local Halloween costume store where an employee was pepper-sprayed.

Medicine Hat police report that on Sept. 29, two women attempted to steal costume items from the Spirit of Halloween Shop located on Carry Drive. When the pair was confronted by staff, one of the women produced a can of pepper spray and sprayed the employee, before the two fled the store.

Police arrived and located one of the women near the store and the other on Southview Drive.

Several costume items and the pepper spray were recovered.

The store employee was treated by EMS.

Bambi Dreaver, 35, of Medicine Hat was charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon. Kristy Miller, 26, of Medicine Hat was charged with theft under $5,000.
