The Medicine Hat Boxing Club fought in Cochrane over the weekend.
Two Medicine Hat boxers, Quincy McComeau and Nate Vossler, competed at a Pro/Am show.
McComeau boxed Konnor Poitras from Counter Punch Olds in the 65kg Elite, stopping him in the second round.
Vossler boxed Shawn Garduque, also from Counter Punch, in the 60kg Elite. The bout was a very dirty fight, coach Kerry Fahlman says. He says Garduque held Vossler throughout the match, which should have cost him points.
Fahlman says Vossler outboxed him when he wasn’t tied up, losing a split decision.
The next action for the Medicine Hat Boxing Club is April 11 in Calgary.
