The Art Room on 2nd hosted its official ribbon cutting on Friday, welcoming Hatters into the new permanent gallery space.
The collaborative space, hosted by Erin Stelsmachuk Biegel, Ursula Maser, Jackie Debalsio and Theresa Eisenbarth currently features art by 14 artists, and will continue to highlight different creators throughout the year as they change out rotating exhibitions and special events throughout the year.
“Through curated shows and community-focused events, Art Room on 2nd invites you to discover work that feels personal, local and lasting,” said Eisenbarth in a statement.
The group had previously rented the same space for various short-term or pop-up galleries, but is making a commitment to remain for at least a year to see the city’s hunger for another art gallery space.
“Our space is rooted in the belief that fine art is an essential part of our culture – something that truly resonates with the places we live – we’re building a space where regional creativity is celebrated, supported and shared,” said Eisenbarth.
The goal of the space is to offer a chance to bring meaningful artistry for collectors, gift-givers and anyone who wants more story and connection in their home or office.
