Police say two people are facing forthcoming charges after officers joined members of ALERT’s organized crime unit and the RCMP’s Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Response Team raided a home on 12th Street NW on Thursday, discovering evidence of a fentanyl lab.

A substantial amount of drugs and equipment were seized during the raid, and police believe the home was used to alter fentanyl by adding other chemicals.

Drugs seized have an estimated street value of $135,000 and include 598 grams of fentanyl, 102 grams of methamphetamine, 85 grams of cocaine, 47 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 21 millilitres of Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid and more than $5,000 in cash.

“Although the investigation is ongoing, the substantial amount of drugs and equipment seized has reduced the immediate risk of harm to the community,” said Staff Sgt. Ryan Thorburn with ALERT.

Police remind residents they can call 403-529-8481 if they suspect drug or gang activity in their community, or submit a tip online by visiting mhps.ca.

More details will be reported once they are released.
