Delays and lane closures are expected for only a few more weeks as the city’s annual roadway resurfacing program is anticipated to be complete by the middle of September. However, there is still lots of work to be completed by crews before then.
On Friday resurfacing work began on a portion of Southridge Drive, adjunct to South Boundary Road, which was recently milled.
On Monday crews will move on to the first two sections along S. Boundary Road, beginning with the west section that includes Southridge Drive to Vista Drive, which is expected to be complete next Thursday.
Once complete, crews will work on the east section of S. Boundary Road near Southland Drive. This work is scheduled to begin Sept. 2 following the Labour Day long weekend.
City staff remind motorists to expect delays, drive with caution and follow all detour traffic signs in the area. All resurfacing work this year is expected to wrap up by Sept. 11.
Other active resurfacing projects affecting city roadways are along College Avenue and Maple Avenue.
