The Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services have posted two time-lapse videos over social media that shows internationally renowned Canadian street artist Victor Fraser painting two fire service emblems outside Station No. 2 and Station No. 3.

Fraser, who was visiting Medicine Hat to celebrate his mothers 80th birthday, gifted the service with the two freehand paintings as a gift to honour their 125th anniversary.

Both videos have been sped up to show Fraser’s entire painting process for beginning to end. Fraser is a sidewalk artist based in Toronto and has been painting paved surfaces for more than 20 years. His paintings can be found in six countries.

Notably Fraser’s work includes a “Humboldt Strong” tribute outside the city hall in Humboldt and the Toronto Maple Leafs logo seen outside Maple Leaf Square and a “David Bowie Forever” tribute on Queen Street West he painted following the death of the artist.

The video can be viewed on the Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services Facebook page.
