The Medicine Hat U12 Mustangs faced off against the Turtles on Sunday, a rag tag group of parents, grandpas, aunts, uncles and siblings.

The Medicine Hat U12 Mustangs had two Chinook league games and a parents game over the weekend.
On Saturday, the Mustangs travelled to Calgary for a pair of games against Calgary South.
They lost the first game 10-7, Brinley Cross and Evangeline Robins each scored twice. Arika McDowall, Annalise Robins and Jorja Sadler all found the back of the net as well.
In the second game, the Mustangs lost 12-5. Evangeline Robins led the offence with four goals, Annalise Robins had a solo tally.
On Sunday, the Mustangs took on the Turtles, a rag-tag group of parents, grandpas, aunts, uncles and siblings in an exhibition game. The Mustangs won 7-5 and are in action again in January.
U14
The Medicine Hat U14 Mustangs played against the Airdrie Sting on Saturday in Airdrie, winning 11-5.
Jacqueline LeBlanc stood tall between the pipes. Lacey Gibney had four goals with an assist, Breanna Lanuk tallied three goals with an assist, Brea Butterfield had a hat trick and Kassidy Etienne had a goal and an assist.
The Mustangs travelled to Chestermere in the afternoon to face the Indus Lightning, winning a back and forth game 13-11.
Gibney led the offence with six goals, Lanuk tallied three goals with an assist. Butterfield had a second hat trick of the weekend, and Ally Martin had a goal and an assist.
The U14 Mustangs are off until they head to Red Deer for a tournament on Jan 3.
U16
The U16 Mustangs had a pair of Saturday games against Calgary Bow View.
The first contest finished in an 8-8 draw. Medicine Hat scored six goals in the first half, with Calgary battling back for the draw. Leighton Wright led the offence with a hat trick, all three assists coming from Reese Tabor. Contributions also came from Margo Kerr with two goals and single markers from Sutton Provost, Nadia Smith and Ravyn Lehr.
They carried the energy of the first game into the second, winning 7-4.
The Mustangs scored five goals in the second half to take the win.
Wright added another hat trick to her tally for the day, Kerr notched two goals as well. Avi Velichko and Sloane Berstad each scored solo tallies.
Sophia Smith stood tall between the pipes for both games, keeping the Mustangs in the game.
The U16 Mustangs are off until Jan. 2 when they head to Regina for a three-day tournament.
U19
The U19 Mustangs ended the year with two away games on Sunday.
In the first game, the Mustangs faced the Indus Lightning in a physical, 8-3 win.
Pacie Harper and Hannah Thompson led the offence with two goals and two assists each. Erika Want had a goal and three assists, Sophie Kerr had three helpers, Margot Kerr (affiliate player) and Mackenzie Tindall each had a goal and an assist. Rileigh Tabor added a goal as well.
In their second game, the Mustangs travelled to Calgary and faced the Bow View team, winning 8-4.
Thompson led the offence again with two goals and four assists, Sophie Kerr had three goals and two assists, Leighton Wright (AP) tallied three assists, Want and Harper each had a goal and an assist, Tindallhaf a goal and Reese Tabor (AP) and Kasey Martin each added an assist.
The Mustangs wrapped up the first half the season on top of the Chinook League. The next action for the Mustangs is Jan. 11 when they take on the other 2 Calgary Bow View teams.
U10
The U10 Step 3 Mustangs travelled to Lethbridge this weekend for their final league games before the holidays.
In Game 1, Lethbridge struck first, with Medicine Hat responding in a back-and-forth battle. Despite goals from Charlie Lowe, Sloan Loehndorf and Aphten Myram, the Mustangs fell 4-3. Blaire Dirk kept the game close with strong goaltending.
The Mustangs trailed early in the second game, making a comeback bid that fell short in an 8-7 loss.
Loehndorf notched a hat trick and an assist, Lowe scored twice, and Lexi Aldred and Isabelle Perrault each added a goal. Kylee Drever held her own in net for Medicine Hat.
The Mustangs will return to action on Jan. 18 at the Moose Recreation Centre for their next set of league games.
The U10 Step 2 Mustangs were also in Lethrbdige over the weekend.
They scored 12 goals in the first game, with Ayva Beebe recording a hat trick and both Hudson Kerluke and Laila Loehndorf recording a pair of goals. Five other Mustangs found twine in Lily Steiner, Ridley Trotter, Rozlyn Moch, Hailee Kopeck and Harper Fuller. Nora Dunn was in net, no final score was reported.
In the second game, the Step 2 Mustangs tied Lethbridge 1202.
With Rozlyn Moch in net, Kerluke had four goals. Kopeck, Nora Dunn and Loehndorf each had a pair of goals and both Fuller and Beebe had single tallies.
The U10 Step 2 Mustangs are off until Jan. 18 when they host Strathmore for a pair of games.
