The Medicine Hat U10 Step 1 Mustangs were in ringette action down Highway 3 this weekend.
The Step 1 Mustangs took part in the Bridge Battle ringette tournament in Lethbridge.
They kicked the tournament off on Friday with a game against Lethbridge. Thea Pancoast and Kylie Klaudt stood tall in net, their first games as goaltenders. Addison Clegg scored twice and both Harper Schuh and Brielle St. Laurent scored as well.
The Mustangs had a pair of games Saturday, starting in the morning against Indus.
Morvik and St. Laurent scored five goals each, Ashley Dupuis had two goals, Teagan Forsyth and Pancoast each tickled twine. Schuh and Dupuis were in net.
They faced Bowview in the afternoon. Dupuis and Pancoast worked between the pipes.
The Mustangs finished the weekend with a Sunday matchup against Lethbridge.
Again, Dupuis and Pancoast stood tall in net. Clegg, St. Laurent, Morvik and Dupuis all scored for the Mustangs.
No scores were reported.
The U10 Step 3 Mustangs defended home ice this weekend, securing back-to-back wins against Foothills.
The Mustangs won the first game Saturday 15-2, with Fallyn Weeks in net.
Lexxon Martinez and Aphten Myram each netted a hat trick, Charlie Lowe and Everley Cross put up two goals each. Lowe added two assists. Avery Fuller had a goal and two assists, Jayla-Ray Klaudt, Sloan Loehndorf, Isabelle Perrault and Addy McKinley each tallied single markers.
The momentum for the Mustangs continued into the second game, a 7-1 win with Cross standing tall between the pipes.
Offensively, Moch had two goals and Lowe had a goal and an assist, Zoe Aarden and Klaudt each added a tally.
The U10 Step 3 Mustangs are in Strathmore Nov. 30 for their next league games.
U12
The U12B Mustangs made the most of a weekend in Calgary, tallying two wins against the Calgary Bow View Cowgirls.
Grace Stirling was in net both games, picking up the wins.
They won the first game 10-6, with Evangeline Robins and Brinley Cross both tallying a hat trick. Jorja Sadler, Annalise Robins, Arika McDowall and Maizee Trotter all scored, Trotter’s being her first goal of the year.
In a close second game of the weekend, the Mustangs bucked off the Cowgirls in a 5-4 win. Evangeline Robins and Cross each had a pair of goals, Trotter also found twine.
They racked up assists in both games with assists by Cross notching three helpers, Evangeline Robins, Dylin Kerluke and McDowall with a pair of assists and Rhya Weingerber, Katie Vis and Aleah Barretto each single tallies.
The Mustangs will face the Cowgirls again in the Ed Horvath Tournament Dec 6-8. Their next Chinook League game will be Dec. 1, a double header in Chestermere against Indus.
U14
The U14 Mustangs played a double header in Calgary against South Calgary on Sunday.
They won the first game 7-5. Jacqueline LeBlanc was between the pipes.
Breanna Lanuk put up a hat trick, Lacey Gibney had a pair of goals and both Brea Butterfiled and Kassidy Etienne found twine.
The Mustangs carried momentum, winning the second contest 7-5. Dannalee Sawchuk took up duties between the pipes, picking up the victory. Lanuk had four goals, Gibney had a pari of markers and Haven Ward scored as well.
The Mustangs head to Edmonton for the Silver Ring Tournament this weekend.
Open
The Medicine Hat Team Smash played in their first tournament of the season in Lethbridge.
In round-robin play, the Smash defeated Lethbridge Rattlers 13-5 on Friday night and followed up with a 12-1 victory over MH Force on Saturday morning.
The Smash played the Calgary CORA Tigers Saturday evening 4-1 to secure a spot in the Gold final Sunday versus the same Tigers. The Smash lost in the final 8-2. Kayty Leidal and Allison Mason scored in a losing cause.
