Lawn Bowling Club crowns league pair, men’s singles champions

The Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Club handed out the top titles over the last week.

On Sept. 3, the local club crowed the league pairs finals.

Cave and Janette Starling won their first H. J. Cove Memorial Trophy with a 12-7 win over Wes Bresee and Jim Clegg.

Mike Gilchrist and Luanne Kennedy took the bronze medal game with a 12-8 win over Doug and Yvonne Sanregret.

Curt and Barb Moll won the Red Amos Trophy, capturing the ‘B’ side championships with a 7-6 win over Frank Buck and Joyce-Ann Bacon.

On Monday, they finished the men’s singles league.

Curt Moll won his third straight men’s singles championship with a 14-9 win over Mike Gilchrist. Gilchrist was the number one seed going into the playoffs after winning the round-robin portion of the league.

Doug Sanregret won the bronze medal with a 12-7 win over Braydon Gordon.

The club has a few weeks left before shutting down for the winter. They will hold a year-end Aussie Pairs Tournament on Sept. 21 to finish off the season.
