Several police officers were treated for injuries following a high-risk weapons complaint Saturday afternoon.
In the early afternoon hours of July 27 police surrounded a four-plex on SW Hill responding to a weapons complaint in the building located in the 200 block of Eighth Street SW.
According to an online post both police and the male suspect were injured during the altercation, stating “members of the Medicine Hat Police Service sustained injuries.”
The male suspect was arrested and transported to the Region Hospital for treatment along with the several officers who were injured during the altercation.
Neighbours on scene told the News the male suspect who was arrested has a history of with police.
The Alberta Serious Incident Response has been assigned to investigate the incident.
