The Medicine Hat Drag Racing Association hosted a Father’s Day weekend of races.
The drag strip hosted two days of races on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday’s races cancelled due to rain.
The action got started Friday with the Street Friday race, won by Christopher Cochrane of Buchess, Alta. Kyle Tokamp of Medicine Hat came in second place.
Redcliff’s Adam Hettler won the Friday Night Bike race, finishing ahead of Keith Easton of Medicine Hat.
Saturday’s races kicked off with the Jr. Thunder race, won by Paxton Frey of Medicine Hat. Brandon Peck of Carseland finished in second.
Gary Schaan of Dunmore won the Jr. Lightning race, with John Nastiuk of Calgary coming in second place.
The final junior race of the day, the Jr. Street race, was won by Paige Munsch of Cypress County. She finished ahead of Ryder Harrison of Raymond.
The Heads Up race was won by Brendan Ashby of Medicine Hat, Ayrton Neudorf of Lethbridge finished second.
Dean Aide of Medicine Hat won the Sportsman race, with Sherri Larson of Brooks coming in second place.
Perry Bell of Medicine Hat won the Pro race, with Doug Klassen, also of Medicine Hat, finishing second.
The Super Pro race was also won by Bell, who finished ahead of fellow local racer Mark Simmons.
The final race of the day, the Pro Bike race, was won by Medicine Hat’s Zach Toth. He finished ahead of Adam Hettler of Redcliff.
Next up at the Drag Strip is the NHRA National Open on July 5-7.
