Hat native wins another Writers Guild of America award for TV news work

Medicine Hat native Craig Wilson has won a third Writers Guild of America award for TV news writing, it was announced Sunday.

Wilson, who is employed by CBS News in New York, was honoured with the 2023 award for “best news script – regularly scheduled, bulletin or breaking” for co-authoring “Surprise Attack!”

It detailed early reports of the attack by Hamas in Israel in early October.

Colleague Ambrose Raferty shared in the award, presented on April 14

It was Wilson’s fifth nomination.
