The Medicine Hat Police Service has recovered a safe and its contents that were stolen from the Connaught Golf Club.
Police say they responded to reports of a break, enter and theft Thursday morning at the local golf course where a safe and the contests inside were stolen.
The MHPS criminal investigation section took over the matter and as part of an investigation, police say they executed a search warrant in Redcliff that resulted in four charges laid against 37-year-old Cole Marshall.
The Redcliff resident was charged with break and enter to commit theft and three counts of break of release order.
Police say they located the safe and all its contents in a rural area north of the city limits.
Marshall was held in custody for a judicial interim release hearing where he was remanded into custody pending his next court appearance on April 9 in Medicine Hat Provincial Court.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
