Registration is now open for a local “Coldest Night of the Year” fundraising walk that will take place in late February.

The Mustard Seed is helping to organizing the event in five cities where it operates on Feb. 24 in order to raise funds and bring awareness to the challenges faced by unhoused people.

A main walk will involve volunteers on 2 or 5 kilometre routes, or people can organize and register themselves in offsite walks on any day of the month to raise funds.

This year the Mustard Seed will stage walks in the Hat, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer (in conjunction with that city’s food bank) and Kamloops.

Interested parties should visit cnoy.org for more information or theSeed.ca.

In 13 years, almost $100 million has been raised across Canada by the “Coldest Night of the Year” organization.
