sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews As the 2023 high school sport season kicks off, the Hat High wrestling team is short on numbers and looking for the next wave of Hawks. Wrestling coach Darren Klein says numbers are down compared to other years and is worried about the future of the sport with the limited wrestlers signed up. Anyone interested is welcome to attend a clinic they are hosting this weekend at Hat High that will be attended by numerous teams from across southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. Practices for junior and senior varsity are Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-5:45 p.m. and for elementary kids it’s the same days from 5:45-7 p.m. All practices are upstairs on the mezzanine above the Hat High gym. Klein can be contacted for more info at 403-581-4851. 8
