A free workshop is taking place at TREX Space called Intuitive Mini Quilting led by Grace Wirzba (gwirzba.wixsite.com). Wirzba is a Lethbridge-based artist and has created the exhibition, which is on display at TREX Space now, called Pretend Foraging in Sleeved Blankets.
Wirzba will be in Medicine Hat on Dec. 3 and will be hosting an afternoon workshop of sewing and hand stitching, leading participants to create their own mini quilt using recycled and other types of fabrics.
Sierra Zukowski, travelling exhibition assistant, said, “It will really be about getting playful. Grace uses lots of different colours in her work. It’s very imaginative and it will be a fun, laid back, cozy afternoon of sewing and creating with other people.”
The workshop is free and open to all ages. It will run from 2-4 p.m. at TREX Space (2, 516 – Third St. SE). Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required, and anyone who wants to take part can just show up on the day.
