SAHA women’s team splits weekend

The South Alberta Hockey Academy U18 women’s U18 hockey team came out even in their weekend of action.

Saturday they were in Thorsby, Alta., taking on the Northern Alberta Xtreme – ultimately losing 2-1.

Maddison Andrew had SAHA’s lone goal, coming in the second period for a 1-0 lead before NAX scored twice in the third for the win. Maddy Ferguson made 35 saves between the pipes.

SAHA rebounded on Sunday in exhibition action, beating the Edmonton Jr. Oilers 4-3. Tea Pearce opened the scoring two minutes into the game and Kendal Davidson scored the game winner with five minutes left. Keira Grant and Brianna Finke each had a goal and an assist in the win.

The SAHA women’s team (8-4-0-1) are in action again on Dec. 3 when they face Edge School on the road for their final CSSHL game of the 2022 calendar year.

The SAHA men’s team (9-3-0-1) had the weekend off and they hit the road for a B.C. road trip this weekend facing Shawnigan Lake school on Friday, RHA Kelowna Saturday and BWC Academy on Sunday.
