The U16B Matrix hosted the Lethbridge Rattlers on Sunday at the Kinplex and won both contests.
In the first game the Matrix came out strong and won 8-2. Goal scorers were Ryleigh Jackiw and Ava Allchurch each had two goals and Grace Ammann, Karly Stennick, Jordy Provost and Kasey Martin. Provost and Ella Seale each had three assists and Kyree Stern made 31 saves.
In the second game, the Matrix beat the Rattlers 8-5. Stern made 35 saves and Seale, Martin and Mackenzie Tindall each scored two goals. Bella Heinrichs Jordy Provost each had a goal in the win. Ammann had four assists for the Matrix, with Provost, Stennick and Tindall picking up two helpers.
The Matrix are off next weekend and will be volunteering at the Haunted House 821 Industrial Ave. Their next game is Nov. 5 wheen they visit the South Calgary Surge.
U10
The U10 Green Gators took to the ice for their first ringette games of the season, and for many their first ringette games ever, with a double header in Cochrane on Sunday.
The team, still learning the ropes, showed some positive defensive moves and teamwork, having each girl scoring during the games.
The young team was excited over the success of their opening action and are all eager to show off their developing skills in their upcoming league games.
The U10 Green Gators have two home games on Nov. 6, taking on the Strathmore Ice and Foothills Ringette.
