kking@medicinehatnews.com Prairie Rose Public School’s board chair, Cathy Hogg, is being recognized for her longtime contribution to public education with the Public School Board Association of Alberta’s Dick Barker Legacy Award. Hogg received the award during PSBAA’s annual awards evening on June 4, following her nomination by Nicole Buchanan, Red Deer Public Schools’ board chair. The award recognizes Alberta public school board trustees who demonstrate compassion, respect, integrity and leadership, and continually have students’ best interest at heart. “I am honoured and humbled,” Hogg said. “There are many incredible individuals who have received this award over the years and I feel proud to be recognized in the company of these amazing people.” A former PSBAA executive and president, Hogg has served on PRPS’ board of trustees since 2013. 7
