JV Colts pickup first win of season

The McCoy Colts JV baseball team picked up their first win of the season Monday after beating the Maple Creek Red Sox 15-1.

Matt Getz picked up the win on the mound, allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine batters. Getz helped his own cause with a single and two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs. Rylan Bender contributed to the offence with two hits and two RBIs Fischer Haysom and Carter Kurpjuweit each chipped in with two runs scored while driving in three runs and two runs respectively.

The McCoy JV squad has a 1-1 record early in the season with their next action going Thursday, when they travel to Brooks to take on the Buffaloes. First pitch at 5:30 p.m.
