In a close fourth set, the Rattlers led the Broncos 24-23 looking to send the match into a deciding fifth, but could not close the door. Olds and Medicine Hat traded chances before the Broncos sealed the win at the 28-26 mark.
Medicine Hat’s offence was a team effort as two Rattlers, Kennedy Galloway and Dryden Gris had eight kills each. Ella Nichols was right behind them with six kills of her own.
Jordi Hazen and Olivia Jacobson led the Rattlers in assists with nine and seven, respectfully. Hazen also led Medicine Hat College in aces with nine.
Just like offensively, the Rattlers defence was a team effort as Gris and Nichols had two blocks each at the net.
Hailey Adams and Galloway kept the ball off the floor for MHC with 10 digs a piece in the contest.
Tabitha Martin led the way offensively for the visiting Broncos with 12 kills, Avery Gammel had 15 assists.
With the loss, the Rattlers fall to 0-11 on the season. They looks to bounce back Sunday afternoon when they hit the road for a rematch with the Broncos.
Their next home action is Feb. 5. When they host the Ambrose Lions.
The Rattlers men’s volleyball team was also in action Friday night, with their match getting underway immediately after the women’s. That match was not over by time of press.
