HALIFAX — The University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières Patriotes are the new U Sports men’s hockey champions. Felix Lafrance scored 14:23 into overtime as UQTR beat the Saint Mary’s Huskies 3-2 on Sunday in the championship final. Jake Uberti’s first-period goal gave Saint Mary’s an early lead and Ben Allison added a goal near the midway point of the second. Pier-Olivier Roy and Charles Beaudoin both scored for the Patriotes in the second period to tie the game 2-2. William Grimard made 45 saves for the win in UQTR’s net. Marcus Vandenberg stopped 30 shots for the Huskies. Earlier Sunday, Stuart Rolofs and Braeden MacPhee had two goals apiece as the University of New Brunswick Reds beat the Windsor Lancers 5-1 in the bronze-medal game.
