Canada’s Mitton takes silver in women’s shot put at world indoors

KUJAWY — Canada’s Sarah Mitton earned a silver medal Friday at the world athletics indoor championships.

Her mark of 19.78 metres was good for second place behind American Chase Jackson at 20.14.

Sweden’s Axelina Johansson was third in 19.75.

Mitton, from Brooklyn, N.S., is a two-time world indoor champion.
