Canada’s Einarson falls 10-6 in extra end to Norway at world curling championship

CALGARY — Canada’s Kerri Einarson has lost 10-6 in an extra end to Norway at the women’s world curling championship.

Einarson’s team from Manitoba dropped to a record of 8-2 behind Switzerland at 9-1.

The top six teams in the field of 13 countries at the end of pool play Friday advance to playoffs.

Switzerland was the first team to secure a playoff berth.

The top two teams earn direct entry into Saturday’s semifinals. The medal games are Sunday.

Einarson caps pool play against Australia and Japan.
