ST. JOHN’S — Alberta’s Kevin Koe and Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone have won their first playoff games at the Canadian men’s curling championship.
Four-time Brier champion Koe and last year’s runner-up Dunstone will meet in Saturday’s Page playoff between the top two seeds.
The victor earns an express ticket to the final while the loser drops to the semifinal.
Koe was a 7-4 winner over Canada’s Brad Jacobs, whose next opponent was Manitoba’s Braden Calvert.
Dunstone earned a 7-5 victory over six-time champion Brad Gushue of Newfoundland and Labrador, who dropped to a later playoff game to face Ontario’s Jayden King.
The winners of the later games reach the Page playoff between the third and fourth seeds. The losers are eliminated.
