Alberta’s Kevin joins playoff teams at Canadian men’s curling championship

ST. JOHN’S — Alberta’s Kevin Koe joined Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue and Canada’s Brad Jacobs in the playoffs at the Montana’s Brier.
The top three teams in each pool of nine advance to playoffs starting Friday.
Four-time Brier champion Koe defeated Northern Ontario’s Sandy MacEwan 8-2 for a 6-0 record atop Pool B.
Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone was 5-1 after a 6-5 victory over Yukon’s Thomas Scoffin.
Manitoba’s Braden Calvert defeated Saskatchewan’s Mike McEwen 9-4 to get to 4-2, and drop McEwan to 5-2.
Jacobs and Gushue share the Pool A lead at 6-0. Quebec’s Jean-Michel Menard was 4-2 ahead of Saskatchewan’s Kelly Knapp and Ontario’s Jayden King both at 3-3 heading into the evening draw.
