Canada men’s hockey looks to keep rolling, as with men’s and women’s curling squads

MILAN — Canada’s men’s hockey team looks to continue its early dominance, while the men’s and women’s curling teams try to build on their winning starts on Day 7 of the Milan Cortina Olympics.

The men’s hockey team faces Switzerland in the second game of Group A action today.

Team Canada opened the tournament with a 5-0 win over Czechia as Macklin Celebrini, Mark Stone, Bo Horvat, Nathan MacKinnon and Nick Suzuki scored. Connor McDavid had three assists, and Jordan Binnington made 26 saves for the shutout.

In curling, Rachel Homan looks to follow up her 10-4 win over Denmark when she faces the United States in her second round-robin game.

On the men’s side, Brad Jacobs takes on the United States and Sweden after opening with a 7-6 extra-end win over Germany.

In figure skating, Stephen Gogolev looks to climb the standings in the men’s free program. The 21-year-old from Toronto scored 87.41 points in the short program and sits in 10th place.
