Real Madrid says Xabi Alonso is no longer the coach

MADRID (AP) — Real Madrid announced on Monday that Xabi Alonso will not continue as the coach.

Madrid said in a statement that Alonso is leaving by mutual agreement.

The announcement came a day after Madrid lost to Barcelona 3-2 in the final of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
