WASHINGTON (AP) — Capitals forward Tom Wilson left Saturday night’s game against Chicago with an apparent leg injury.
Wilson, who was selected earlier in the week for
Canada’s Olympic roster, collided with Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy behind the net in the first period, and he quickly grabbed at his right shin area. He did not return at the start of the second.
The 31-year-old Wilson leads Washington with 22 goals this season. Aliaksei Protas was second with 16 entering the game, but the Capitals were without him as well because of a lower-body injury. Meanwhile, forward Pierre-Luc Dubois hasn’t played since Oct. 31.
