Blue Jays beat Dodgers 6-2 in Game 4 to tie World Series 2-2

LOS ANGELES — Vladimir Guerrero Junior hit a two-run homer, Shane Bieber outpitched Shohei Ohtani, and the Toronto Blue Jays tied the 2025 World Series at two games apiece with a 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 on Tuesday night.

Game 5 in the best-of-seven series is Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium, and Game 6 is Friday at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The Jays outhit the Dodgers 11-6, but left nine runners on base.

Guerrero erased a 1-0 Jays’ deficit with his blast over the centre-field wall in the third inning off of Ohtani, who one batter earlier had give up a single to Nathan Lukes.

The Jays broke the game open with four runs in the seventh.

Andres Gimenez gave the Jays a 3-1 lead with an RBI single that scored Daulton Varsho. Ty France, pinch-hitting for Nathan Lukes, then drove in Ernie Clement with a ground out to first base to make it 4-1. Bo Bichette followed with a single to drive in Gimenez, then Addison Barger singled to score Guerrero, who had been intentionally walked.

Bieber worked 5 1/3 innings, giving up four hits, three walks and one run. He had three strikeouts. Mason Fluharty worked two-thirds of an inning in relief, Chris Bassitt worked the seventh and eighth innings, and Louis Varland pitched the ninth, giving up a run.

Ohtani, pulled in the top of the seventh inning, surrendered six hits, three runs and one walk. He struck out six batters.

Enrique Hernandez had a sacrifice fly in the second inning to score Max Muncy to give the Dodgers an early lead.

UP NEXT

Jays rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage (2-1) will start Game 5, while the Dodgers will counter with veteran left-hander Blake Snell (3-1).
