SEATTLE — After an 8-2 road victory in Game 4, Blue Jays manager John Schneider ran back the same batting order for Game 5 of the American League Championship Series on Friday at T-Mobile Park.
Right-hander Kevin Gausman (1-1) was scheduled to start for Toronto against Seattle’s Bryce Miller (1-0).
The Mariners won the first two games of the best-of-seven series at Rogers Centre before the Blue Jays rebounded with two road victories of their own.
Andres Gimenez and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered for the Blue Jays in Game 4 as Toronto outhit Seattle 11-5.
Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage was tabbed to start Game 6 when the series returns to Rogers Centre on Sunday, Schneider confirmed at a media availability before Game 5.
If the series goes the distance, Game 7 would be played Monday at Rogers Centre.
Yesavage is 1-1 with a 4.82 earned-run average in two post-season starts.
The September call-up impressed in three big-league starts before throwing 5 1/3 no-hit innings with 11 strikeouts in a 13-7 win over New York in Game 2 of the AL Division Series.
In Game 2 of the ALCS, Yesavage allowed five earned runs over four innings in a 10-3 loss. The Mariners did not immediately name their Game 6 starter.
The Blue Jays are looking to return to the World Series for the first time since winning a second straight title in 1993. The Mariners have never reached the Fall Classic.
