Oilers sign German-Canadian forward Josh Samanski to entry-level contract

EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Josh Samanski to a two-year entry level contract, the NHL club announced Wednesday.
The contract will start next season.
The six-foot-five, 190-pound Samanski has spent the past four seasons primarily with the Straubing Tigers of the top German league.
He has 40 goals and 53 assists in 193 regular-season games and five goals and six assists in 30 playoff appearances.
Samanski, 23, who was born in Erding, Germany, but has Canadian citizenship, led the Tigers with 14 goals and shared the team lead with 26 assists this past season.
The Oilers return to action Thursday at San Jose.
