CALGARY — Toronto Sceptres forward Hannah Miller has been removed from Canada’s roster for the women’s world hockey championship and replaced by Julia Gosling.
Hockey Canada says the International Ice Hockey Federation has deemed the 29-year-old from North Vancouver, B.C., ineligible to play in the April 9-20 tournament in Ceske Budejovice, Czechia
Miller played for host China in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing and in a Division 1 women’s world championship that year.
She played for the Chinese club team KRS Shenzhen in 2022-23.
Miller represented Canada at the world under-18 women’s hockey championship in both 2013 and 2014.
The IIHF stipulates a two-year timeline from when Miller last played overseas in order for her to be eligible to play for Canada.
